There is no instruction booklet in any version of the game. However, Prima will be publishing the official strategy guide.

Keiner Version von Half-Life 2 wird also eine Anleitung beiliegen, wer eine Erklärung zur Steuerung etc. möchte, der muss somit zusätzliches Geld in den Strategy Guide von Prima Games investieren.
